The Molecular Structure of Silence

"The Molecular Structure of Silence" was conceived in complete and utter silence.

This series came to life after two major events happened in my life, early 2017:

1) After years of being in a relationship, I moved out and started living alone for the very first time.
The first thing that struck me was how silent living alone feels.
Pretty soon after, I was haunted by the silence – not haunted in a “spooky” sense, haunted in a “this is overbearing” way.

2) After over 15 years of writing and recording music, I decided to give it up in favour of photography. A second way in which silence took over.

All of a sudden, due to these 2 events, silence became the connective tissue in my life.
No more music. No more casual conversations.
Only silence.
All around me.

And this is what this series embodies: capturing silence.
